What should I send to begin a bespoke sofa commission?

Send a floor plan or room dimensions, photographs and a description of how the sofa will be used. This gives the studio a starting point for its proportions, position and relationship to the rest of the room.

Can the commission start from an existing Saint Objets design?

Yes. The studio can adapt an existing design or develop a sofa around a new brief. The distinction is the scope of the drawing and the changes required, not simply the fabric colour. See custom sofas for adaptations of an existing model.

What is agreed before the sofa is made?

The proposal brings together the drawing, dimensions, upholstery and the lead time for the agreed scope. The fabric and material direction are reviewed with the studio before production. The commission process explains the stages.

How is the upholstery specified for the brief?

The fabric is considered with the silhouette, comfort and use of the room. A wide choice of fabrics, including a range of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics. This statement concerns the upholstery fabric, not certification of the complete sofa.

How is the production schedule established?

The studio confirms the schedule against the scale of the commission, the number of pieces and the availability of the selected fabric. Review the timing in the proposal for your project rather than treating a general lead time as a fixed delivery date.
