A ready-made sofa is a decision already taken. The proportions are set. The comfort is tested. The piece is ready to be placed. Often that is the whole of what a room needs.
What bespoke changes.
A bespoke sofa is built to your dimensions, your proportion and your cloth. The room is measured first. The piece is drawn around it. When the room sets the terms, the furniture stops competing with the architecture.
Lead time runs from ten to thirty days, according to the scale of the project, the number of pieces and the availability of the chosen cloth. The cloths come from curated European collections, high-performance and hospitality-grade, toxic-free and low in chemical emissions.
Bespoke is not more luxurious by default. It is more exact.
How to decide.
Choose ready-made when the room asks nothing unusual of the furniture and the date is close. Choose bespoke when the room is the reason. An awkward depth. A defining wall. A curve. An interior where one piece sets the tone for everything placed after it. The drawing stage is described in from sketch to upholstery.
What made to order removes.
Nothing is held in stock. Nothing is built before it is wanted. There is no importer, no distributor, no warehouse, no ocean crossing before a client has asked. Nothing is lost along that path, so nothing has to be taken out of the piece to make up for it. What would have been lost goes into the frame, the fill, the cloth and the hand that finishes the seam.
It also removes the almost. The sofa that is almost the right depth, almost the right length, almost the right colour. Almost is what makes a room feel bought rather than composed.
