A curve is a plan decision, not a style choice.
A curved sofa is usually specified for the wrong reason. It is not softer, and it is not more modern. It exists to solve a plan: a room that opens on more than one side, a view that the seating should follow rather than block, a circulation route that a straight back would cut in two. Abu Dhabi apartments and villas frequently have exactly that geometry, wide glazing on two faces and no obvious wall to push a sofa against. A curve turns that from a problem into the reason the room works.

Does a curved piece cost more?
It takes longer to build, because the frame is shaped rather than assembled. The quotation states it plainly.

Yes. Pieces of this size are built in sections that join on site, and the access is checked before production.
