Leather in a hot climate, told honestly.
Leather divides into two families that behave nothing alike. Aniline and semi aniline keep the natural surface, develop a patina and mark easily. Pigmented leather carries a protective layer, resists marks and ages far less. Neither is better; they suit different homes. In Dubai the real question is the room: leather under long direct light will dry and lighten unless it is a protected grade, and leather in constant air conditioning needs conditioning once or twice a year to stay supple. Does leather get hot in this climate?
In air conditioning, no. In a sun room, any surface does. Placement matters more than the material.
Can leather be repaired?
Pigmented leather can be touched up. Aniline patinas rather than repairs, which some people prefer.
Is vegan leather an option?
Yes, and we say plainly what it is and how it wears. It is a different material, not a substitute.
