Commission a SofaSaint Objets is a French furniture studio in Dubai. Every sofa is drawn in Paris and made to order in the Emirates, and every seat is a construction decision before it is a cushion. Our standard build is elastic webbing suspension under layered foams of different densities, shaped so the seat gives the feel of memory foam while keeping its line. It is firm, even and quiet, and it lets a low silhouette stay thin.
A spring sofa in Dubai is rarer, because a sprung seat is more work: each spring is set and tied by hand inside the frame, and the seat gains height and depth. Saint Objets developed and prototyped its own spring seat in the studio and offers it as an option across the collection, on the same solid hardwood frames and in the same European cloths, OEKO-TEX where the certificate is available for the chosen cloth. You choose the sit; the sofa keeps its silhouette.
The frame is solid hardwood, jointed and glued, and carries a two year structural warranty against verified manufacturing defects. Over it, our standard build tensions elastic webbing across the seat in a lattice. The straps carry the body evenly, never sag into a hammock, and add almost no height, which is why a Club 89 module or a Henri can sit so low and so clean.
The spring seat replaces the lattice with steel springs set under the cushion. A spring stores the weight of the body and gives it back, so the sit begins soft, then holds. The seat gains a little height and a lot of depth. It is the construction of the great lounge sofas, and it is the one we recommend when a sofa is lived in for hours every day.
Above either system, the foams are layered by density: a firm core for shape, a softer top for the first contact, so the seat gives the feel of memory foam without the heat or the slow recovery of memory foam itself. Everything is upholstered and finished by hand in the atelier, in ten to thirty days.
