A headboard is the largest single surface in most bedrooms and it sets the proportion of everything else. Too short and the bed reads as unfinished; too tall in a narrow room and the wall closes in. The rule that holds in most Dubai apartments is that the headboard should read as part of the wall rather than as an object leaning against it, which is why wall mounting often works better than a floor standing frame. Fabric choice matters more here than anywhere else, because this is the surface a head rests against every night.
