Saint Objets draws Marseille as one enveloping curve, a back that wraps the seat in a single upholstered shell, low enough to keep the horizon, deep enough to hold you, on a round base. Two of them around the Antibes table make a salon under the sky. Made to order in Dubai, in any of the thirteen references of the Riviera range, eight plains and five stripes.

Commission a PieceMarseille is eighty five centimetres across and seventy two centimetres high, with a seat height of forty centimetres. The proportions are those of an indoor club chair, so the terrace is furnished like a room and not like a deck. The fabric is an outdoor fabric that is water repellent, rated 80, fade and weather resistant with high UV resistance, a colour fastness to rubbing of 4 to 5 dry and wet, an abrasion resistance of 50,000 Martindale cycles, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and a Global Recycled Standard certificate from Control Union. Contrast piping traces the curve like a line drawn by hand.
The frame is solid hardwood specified for outdoor use, the seat is layered foam of different densities, and the whole piece is upholstered by hand in the Emirates. Marseille pairs with the Antibes coffee table, a four petal clover of the same fabric, and with the Lavandou side table. Lead time: Ten to thirty days, according to the scale of the project, the number of pieces and the availability of the chosen fabric.
Marseille is shown in Pinot Noir and in Calanque Stripe, the deep blue of the calanques with cream. The Riviera range counts thirteen references: eight plains and five stripes with cream.
Any other outdoor fabric can be specified according to the brief.
Care is simple: brush the fabric, then wash with mild soapy water. The seat is built on elastic webbing suspension as standard, with layered foams of different densities that give the feel of memory foam while keeping the line, on a solid hardwood frame specified for outdoor use.
The showroom is at Decoroom, Art of Living Mall, Dubai, free to visit, with a complimentary design consultation and a designer available by appointment. A second showroom at Decoroom, Dubai Hills Mall, Gate 4, opens soon. The studio in Dubai Design District receives clients by appointment.
