DESCRIPTION
A club chair, drawn square
Rue Saint-Dominique runs through the seventh arrondissement behind the carriage doors of its hôtels particuliers, a street of courtyards, stone and quiet, a few steps from the Rodin garden. The armchair takes its name and its manners. It is the club chair of the 1930s brought back to its plan, a square held in a compact frame, the cubic seat that Jean-Michel Frank drew for the salons of that decade and that has never left the Paris apartment since. The arms are straight and cut to one height, the backrest is tailored, the seat cushion is generous and the whole sits low on solid wood feet. About 90 cm wide, 90 deep and 80 high, it reads as one block in the room and takes a pair well, on either side of a window or a low table.
The seat
Layered foams of different densities, shaped so the seat has the feel of memory foam while holding its line. Our spring seat, developed and prototyped in the studio, can be fitted on request for a deeper, slower sit.
The fabric
Shown in Chamois, a vintage beige velvet, the colour of a chamois skin. Any other fabric of the collection can be specified. All our upholstery fabrics are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and tested for harmful substances.
