Contract grade is a measurable claim, not an adjective. It means a stated abrasion figure on the fabric, a frame built for public use rather than domestic use, foam densities chosen for hours of occupancy per day, and finishes that survive a cleaning schedule rather than a careful owner. Saint Objets states the figure rather than the adjective. Where a consultant specifies a fire performance, it is evidenced rather than assumed, and where a fabric carries OEKO-TEX the certificate is named for that fabric rather than claimed for the house.

What abrasion figure do you use?
It depends on the room. We give the figure for the chosen fabric rather than describing it as hard wearing.

Can you meet a specified fire rating?
Where the code or the consultant requires it, the material is specified and evidenced. We never claim a rating a material does not hold.

Is contract furniture less beautiful?
It is differently engineered. The line stays; the frame, foam and fabric underneath change.
