A Saint Objets piece begins with a commission.
The dimensions, upholstery and finish are agreed before production begins. Furniture is made to order rather than produced speculatively for finished stock.
Production begins after the piece has been specified.
That keeps the relationship between the drawing, the material and the finished object direct. It also avoids producing finished furniture in anticipation of demand.
Making to order means the piece already has a destination before production begins.
The studio does not manufacture finished collection pieces simply to hold them in stock and wait for a buyer.
Saint Objets furniture is crafted to order in the Emirates, close to the studio directing the piece.
Where a locally available material meets the design and performance required, local sourcing is prioritised.
Upholstery is the part of the furniture in direct contact with the body.
Material is selected alongside the intended use of the piece, its construction and the room in which it will live.
A wide choice of fabrics, including a range of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics.
Upholstery changes with use and time. That does not necessarily mean the furniture beneath it has reached the end of its life.
The frame remains. The surface changes.
Where the construction permits, a Saint Objets piece can be re-upholstered rather than replaced.
These are production decisions rather than claims added after the piece is finished.
Made to order. No speculative finished inventory. Furniture made in the Emirates. Local sourcing where it meets the specification. Re-upholstery where the construction permits.
