Nine months of intense light, salt in the air near the water, and a cool season when the terrace becomes the most used room in the home. Cloth must be solution dyed rather than surface dyed, or the colour leaves within a season. Frames must be specified for corrosion, and cushions must drain rather than hold water after the January rain. Saint Objets draws terraces as rooms, because in Dubai that is what they are for four months of the year.
