Start with the room, not the sofa
Measure the wall, the walkway and the distance to whatever the sofa faces. In many Dubai apartments a well-proportioned three-seater holds a room better than an oversized sectional that swallows the floor. The sofa should leave the room breathing space, not fill it.
Silhouette, seat depth and back height
Silhouette sets the character. A low, deep seat reads relaxed and architectural; an upright, tailored back reads formal and precise. Seat depth decides posture: a deeper seat invites lounging, a shallower one supports an upright sit. Back height changes the presence of the piece in the room and how it frames the people on it. None of these are style choices alone, they are comfort choices.
The room should guide the piece, not the other way around.
Proportion and circulation
Proportion is the relationship between the sofa and everything around it: the rug, the table, the window, the path through the room. Colour and upholstery
Colour carries the room. Deep, saturated tones give a sofa weight and presence; quiet neutrals let it recede. Upholstery is selected from curated European collections, including French and Belgian mills, for texture, colour depth, comfort and suitability for the project. For high-use settings, upholstery with documented performance characteristics can be specified according to the brief.
