Stain Resistance Begins with the Specification.
There is no single mechanism behind every performance fabric. Depending on the textile, cleanability can come from fibre choice, yarn construction, weave, dyeing method, a finish, or a combination of them.
That is why Saint Objets does not treat “performance” as one generic promise. We read the information for the exact fabric being specified.
Read the Room, Then the Data.
The fabric follows the way the room is lived in, not the swatch that photographs best.
- Children: look closely at cleanability and the care instructions for the exact textile.
- Pets: a tighter construction can reduce snagging, but the weave still needs to be judged case by case.
- Sunlight: read the documented light-fastness result rather than assuming every performance fabric behaves the same way.
- Traffic: use the relevant abrasion test and understand whether the result is Martindale cycles or Wyzenbeek double rubs.
Safety and Performance Are Two Questions.
A fabric can be easy to clean and still require a separate conversation about chemical testing. A wide choice of fabrics, including a range of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics.
That certification does not tell you how a stain will lift, and a stain-resistance claim does not replace the certification. We prefer both questions answered on their own terms.
Made to Order, Sized to the Home.
Each piece is sized to the floor plan and the upholstery is selected against the actual household. Furniture takes ten to thirty days, according to the scale of the project, the number of pieces and the availability of the chosen fabric. A 24-month structural warranty covers the frame.

What makes a fabric stain-resistant?
It depends on the textile. Fibre, yarn construction, weave, dyeing method and finishes can all play a role. The useful answer is the care and performance information for the exact fabric, not one rule applied to an entire category.
What does OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 tell me about a family sofa?
It tells you that the certified upholstery textile has been tested for harmful substances. It does not by itself certify the whole sofa, and it does not tell you how a stain should be cleaned.
How do I choose the right performance fabric for my family?
Start with the room as it is actually lived in: children, pets, sunlight, food, frequency of use and cleaning routine. We then match weave, texture, performance data and tone to that brief rather than choosing from the word “performance” alone.
