French savoir-faire,
made by hand in India.

Bespoke Rugs, Dubai by Saint Objets is drawn in Paris and hand-crafted by master artisans in India, the result of generations of rug-making heritage. Developed the way a studio works: proportion first, then the making. Not a showroom piece, the exact one your room was waiting for.

Bespoke Rugs, Dubai · Made to order

Saint Objets is a French furniture studio in Dubai. Our rugs are designed in Paris and hand-crafted by master artisans in India, the result of generations of rug-making heritage. Every rug begins as a drawing, not a catalogue number, developed for the way a room is actually lived in.

Bespoke Rugs, Dubai: made to order means the rug is built to your proportions and your materials. Hand-knotted and hand-tufted by master artisans in India, so a sculptural rug keeps its shape and its presence for years across the UAE.

How a bespoke rug is actually made

A bespoke rug begins as a drawing sized to the room rather than a size chosen from a chart. Saint Objets rugs are hand knotted and hand tufted in India, where the craft has been continuous for generations, and the specification that matters is knot density, pile height and fibre blend rather than a marketing name. A higher knot count holds a fine drawing; a lower one suits a soft graphic form. Wool wears and recovers, silk carries light, and the blend decides how the rug reads at nine in the morning and again at nine at night.

Questions

How is the knot density chosen?
By what the drawing asks for. A fine, detailed pattern needs a higher knot count to hold its line, while a soft graphic form reads better at a lower one. The density is agreed before the loom is set.

Can you match a specific colour?
Yes, from a physical sample rather than a screen. Colour on a monitor is not colour on wool.

What size should a living room rug be?
Large enough that the front legs of the seating sit on it. A rug that floats between furniture makes a room read smaller.
