Two Claims That Should Not Be Blurred.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 answers a different question. It certifies textiles that have been tested for harmful substances. It is valuable evidence, but it is not the same thing as a VOC-emissions test.
At Saint Objets, our documented upholstery claim is precise: a wide choice of fabrics, including a range of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics. We do not stretch that textile certificate into a claim that every component of a finished sofa has been emissions-tested.
What We Actually Specify.
A fabric still has to work in the room. We read the mill data for the exact textile and specify around the way the piece will be used:
- Abrasion performance appropriate to the traffic.
- Light-fastness appropriate to the exposure.
- Cleaning and care instructions that suit the household or hospitality team.
- OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification for the upholstery fabric.
A certificate answers one question well. A good specification asks the rest.
Why Precision Matters Indoors.
Furniture lives close to the body for years. That is exactly why material claims should be specific enough to verify. “Certified”, “low-emission” and “non-toxic” are not interchangeable terms, and we prefer to tell you which evidence belongs to which material.

Not by itself. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a harmful-substances certification for textiles. A low-emission or VOC claim should be supported by the relevant emissions testing for the material being discussed.
What can Saint Objets document about its upholstery fabrics?

Does the fabric certificate certify the whole sofa?
No. The certificate belongs to the certified textile. We do not present it as certification of every material or component inside a finished furniture piece.
