What a Vegan Leather Is.
Two coated textiles can look almost identical and behave very differently. One may be intended for occasional residential use, another for high-traffic hospitality. So we begin with the technical sheet before we begin with colour.
The same rule applies to woven performance fabrics. “Performance” is not one recipe. It is a brief answered by the exact textile.
What We Ask Before We Specify.
- What is the composition of the face and backing?
- What cleaning method does the manufacturer permit?
- What abrasion and light-fastness data is documented?
- What certification belongs to the textile itself?
Safety, Cleanability and Durability Are Separate Questions.
A wide choice of fabrics, including a range of OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics. That is a textile certification. Cleanability and durability are read separately from the manufacturer's data for the exact material.
We do not use one certificate as proof of every claim. Precision is more useful than a row of comforting adjectives.
How We Specify for Your Room.

Is vegan leather suitable for a home with children and pets?
It can be, provided the exact coated textile is specified for the use. We check composition, care instructions and documented performance rather than assuming every material sold as vegan leather behaves the same way.
Does OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 mean a performance fabric is low-emission?
No. It means the certified textile has been tested for harmful substances. Low-emission or VOC claims require the relevant emissions evidence and should be treated separately.
How do I know what a fabric is made of before I buy?
Ask for the composition and technical information for the exact textile. At Saint Objets the material is settled with you before production begins.
